My name is Ellen Swennen (1988). I was born and raised in Hasselt (Limburg). After exploring the world for a bit I went on to study at Ghent University and ended up in the beautiful province of East Flanders. Despite the fact that I feel very much at home here, you can certainly still hear hints of my Limburg accent in my Dutch. I have two little munchkins with my husband; a daughter of 5 and a son of 3. Besides reading and travelling, they are my main hobby. Because of my travels and other international experiences I am fluent in English. If you are looking for therapy sessions in English (even if you are a non-native speaker), you are in safe hands with me.

 

I obtained my Master's degree in Business Psychology and Human Resource Management at Ghent University and wrote my thesis on creativity and innovation. My passion for human behavior made me pursue and obtain the postgraduate degree of Solution Focused Counselor at the Korzybski Institute (2-year training in Solution Focused Cognitive Systemic Therapy). I am a firm believer in lifelong learning and am currently specializing in solution-oriented work with children, young people and their parents (4-year postgraduate degree as a Psychotherapist - Korzybski). 

 

In my practice I provide counseling to children, young people and adults. Together we identify the main obstacles on your path and we look for specific actions that will bring about the necessary changes in your life. With sufficient respect for the past and the difficulties that you experience, we shift the focus to the future and to all the strengths you possess in your life to achieve your goals.
